Hi there. I’m Michael Pollock. I inspire and teach creative entrepreneurs how to use the Web to make a difference in the world, make more money live a bigger life.

I’ve been doing business online since 2004 when I launched Small Business Branding (SBB), a blog about how small businesses build a strong brand on and off the web. It was a fun project, and I learned a great deal about small business web marketing.

During the two years that I owned SBB, my proudest moment came when Entrepreneur Magazine referred to it as one of the “cream of the crop” marketing blogs on the web. After a couple of years, however, it was time to move on to something else, and I sold Small Business Branding in early 2006.

Soon after, I launched Solostream, a blog design company. The timing couldn’t have been better for me. Blogs were just beginning to gain popularity as a tool for marketing a small business, and Solostream took off almost immediately. Within a couple of months, I had more than enough custom blog design work to keep me busy, and I was able to leave my full-time job to operate Solostream from my home office.

Seizing an opportunity in late 2007, Solostream began to develop and sell premium WordPress themes that people could purchase and download from the Solostream site. Along with Brian Gardner of StudioPress and a few others, I helped pioneer the premium WordPress themes market, and soon, Solostream was generating six-figure profits from theme sales.

While Solostream was doing well and supported me financially, I couldn’t escape the feeling that something was missing from my professional life. And rather than close a successful business or try to change it, I decided it was best to let someone else move it forward while I focus my energy on work that’s more in alignment with my passion. So, inspired to create something new, I sold Solostream in September 2008.

Birth of the Bigger Life Blog

Although I continue to work closely with the new owner of Solostream, my true passion is inspiring and teaching creative entrepreneurs how to use the web to make a difference, make more money and live a bigger life.

This passion is fueled by the belief that most of us want to live a life filled with richness, purpose and meaning. We want the love, support and respect of family, friends and colleagues.

We want our work to enrich the lives of others as well as ourselves. We want to be well-know, respected and appreciated for what we contribute to the world, and we want to be well-compensated – both spiritually and monetarily – for that contribution. In short, we want to live as big a life as possible.
